What you will learn

In Manual NVR Part 3, we will focus on the lower extremities, assess lower body patterns, and develop a detailed understanding of the anatomy and function of the lower legs and feet. We will consider the structural balance within the feet, arch support, mid-foot stiffness, bunions, plantar fasciitis, knee issues, and how to help people adapt to minimal shoes.

You can expect from this course that you will experience improved one-legged balance and foot articulation in your own body, as well as a greater experiential understanding of how the work that we have done in the core of the torso is helpful for leg and foot symptoms. We will revisit the hamstrings and quads to explore how these affect tibial rotation and patellar tracking. We will explore the neural and vascular contribution to the spiral patterns that wind down through the lower limb. Adding detailed lower leg and foot techniques to your sessions will improve your clients' agility, resolve old injuries, and help prevent new injuries to the lower body.

Prerequisite: NVR Parts 1 and 2, either distance learning or in-person.

Plan for your next courses

In Manual NVR Part 4, we will learn hand and forearm work and discuss how neurovascular work can support the organs. Some of our focus will be on "listening and questioning," which will give us the opportunity to review techniques from Parts 1, 2, and 3 as we explore structural and functional balance throughout the body.

Manual NVR Part 5 is a practicum focused on assessment and practical application. In full sessions with outside models, you will apply all that you have learned in Parts 1 through 4, practicing session strategy under Kier’s guidance. This is a great opportunity to bring family members with you to receive work!

Distance learning format

Recorded and live sessions total 28 plus hours, spread across five weeks

  • Spread out your learning over time. Practice the techniques and strategies you just learned and then return to class the following week with questions.

  • Reduce your travel costs!

  • Each week, watch four hours of recordings and attend a 90-minute live mentoring session.

Each week, watch four hours of recordings and attend a 90-minute live mentoring session.

Watch the class recordings on your own and attend the live Q&A sessions for small group mentoring. Cohort A: Tuesdays from 5:00 - 6:30 pm Pacific Time (Wednesday mornings in East Asia and Australia/New Zealand) or Cohort B: Wednesdays from 9:00 - 10:30 am Pacific Time

  • Attend live at a time that works for your time zone

The Q&A is held twice to accommodate many time zones. (If you live somewhere that doesn't allow you to attend either cohort live, reach out to arrange private or small-group mentoring at a time that will work for you.)

  • Curated videos edited into short segments allow you to plan your practice time

Watch the anatomy lessons, technique demonstrations, and guided practice segments, then replay the demos or guided practice segments while you work with your model (a practice client).

  • Bring your questions and a model (practice client) to the live Q&A each week

After answering your questions, Kier will guide you through technique practice during the second half of each 90-minute group mentoring session.
